Upgrades & add-ons

Add what your vehicle needs

Check off what interests you when you book. At the walkaround I’ll tell you what your vehicle actually needs — and what it doesn’t.

How add-ons work

Add-ons are extras you can attach to any package: the jobs a standard detail does not cover, priced on their own.

What each one costs depends on condition — some vehicles need a quick pass, others need more work. You’ll have the price for anything you want added at the walkaround, before I start.

A note on ozone. It runs after the interior is cleaned, and the vehicle needs to air out for a good while afterwards. I will tell you when it is ready. If a child, an older passenger, or anyone with a respiratory condition rides in the vehicle, give it longer still.

Exterior

  • Rain repellent glass treatmentAlready included with any exterior package. An add-on for interior-only bookings, if you want the outside glass treated so rain beads up and rolls off.
  • Engine bay cleaning
  • Headlight restoration
  • Taillight restoration
  • Plastic trim polish & UV protectDeeper than the dressing in the packages

Correction & coating

When you want more than clean

The work you choose when your vehicle is worth keeping.

The process

How it works

From a two-minute booking to a vehicle you’re glad to get back into.

1

Pick Your Time

Book online in a couple of minutes. You pick from times that are available. Or call or text (360) 347-1610 and I’ll get you booked that way. Whichever is easiest for you.

2

Your Walkaround & Quote

I come to you, and we walk around your vehicle together. I check size and true condition against the same standardized checklist every time. You get your firm, final price right there.

3

You Decide

No obligation to decide on the spot. If the price works for you, you pick the day that suits you best — and if I can start right then, I’ll tell you.

4

Your Detail Day

Most people head back inside and continue with their day while I work. I take the time the job needs, and the next thing you do is walk out to a finished vehicle.

My promise: you love it, or I make it right

When the work is done I’ll come and get you, and we walk the vehicle together. If anything doesn’t meet your standard, I make it right before I pack up. No awkward conversation, no surprise charge. Every job, every time.

Fully self-contained

I bring my own water and power

No hose, no outlet, nothing borrowed. Everything the job needs travels in the van, so I can work where your vehicle already sits — your driveway, a parking lot, or a space at your apartment.

  • My own water, filtered and tanked
  • My own power, so nothing plugs into your home
  • A rinseless wash where runoff is restricted

Tunnel Wash vs Detailing

Not the same job

A tunnel wash moves a lot of vehicles through in a hurry. A detail is the other kind of clean.

Compare Traditional Tunnel Wash Exo Signature Detail
SafetyBrushes can scratch and swirl paint.Washed by hand with slick soap and clean mitts, so grit lifts off instead of dragging across the paint.
Water UsedAround 60 to 120 gallons for one vehicle.Around 5 to 20 gallons for one vehicle.
EffortYou drive there, do your own interior vacuum (if it’s available), wipe your own consoles and dash, and do the inside of your own windows.I drive to you and handle the rest. Thoroughly, professionally.
ProductsAlkaline and acid presoaks, chosen to move vehicles, not to protect paint. No dressing for tires or plastic trim. No decontamination.Mostly pH-neutral products, matched to each surface. Decontamination, and dressing for tires and plastic trim — all included.

Questions

Good questions, honest answers

The things Thurston County drivers ask me most, before the walkaround.

What is ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating is a liquid glass that hardens onto your paint and stays there for years. Dirt struggles to stick, rain rolls straight off, and washing gets quicker because less grime holds on in the first place. Wax does a little of this for a few weeks. A coating does it for years, and I always polish the paint first so what gets sealed in is paint at its best. The 3-month sealant included in my Exterior Detail is the spray-on kind — a real coating is the multi-year version described here.

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes the fine scratches and swirl marks that make paint look dull. Those marks come from years of washing, brushes and daily driving, and they scatter light instead of reflecting it. Polishing levels the surface so the color looks deep again. It is not a wax or a filler that hides them for a few weeks: what comes out, stays out.

Explore Paint Correction

Can paint correction remove every scratch?

Not every scratch, but more than most people expect, and I’ll always be honest about which will come out and which won’t.

Polishing takes off a very thin layer of the clear top coat over your paint to smooth the area around a scratch, so it works beautifully on swirl marks, light scratches, and dull, oxidized paint. A 1-step polish clears about half of that kind of damage, a 2-step most of it, and my 3-step gets close to a showroom finish. What it can’t fix is damage that has gone through the paint: deep scratches you can catch a fingernail in, or chips down to the metal. That’s body-shop work, not detailing. At the walkaround we’ll go over your paint together, so you always know what to expect. See every tier and price on my Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating pages.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?

Don’t worry about tidying up before the quote. However, if there’s an interior detail involved on the day of service, I’ll ask you to move all belongings from inside the vehicle to somewhere safe (glovebox and console included) before I get started.

I’m not able to touch personal belongings for liability reasons, so anything left inside is something I have to work around. Leave the trash. I’ll take care of it.

What kinds of vehicles do you detail?

Cars, trucks, SUVs and vans — car detailing, truck detailing, the lot. Price follows size, so a truck costs more than a sedan, and you get a firm number at the walkaround before anything starts.

Why does my price depend on my vehicle’s size and condition?

Both factors affect how long the work takes. Larger vehicles have more carpet, glass, and paint to cover, so every package is priced in three sizes: small, mid-size, and large. Condition works on a similar scale: a well-maintained vehicle that’s washed regularly carries no upcharge, while more neglected conditions (years without a deep clean, or a rainstorm with the windows down) take more time and care. Add-ons scale with severity too, the same way. You’ll get your exact, final number at the walkaround, face to face, before you commit to anything.

Do you need access to my water or power outlet?

Nope! I am fully self-contained. My detailing setup is equipped with a water tank and a generator onboard, so your driveway is my shop.

How long does a detail take?

Every vehicle is a little different: the package you choose, your vehicle’s size, and its true condition all affect how long the work takes, so I’d rather not toss out a number sight unseen. Booking online reserves the walkaround, not the detail itself. At the walkaround I give you a firm price and a realistic estimate of how long the work will take, and we book it for a day that suits you.

I live in an apartment or condo, can you still detail my vehicle?

Usually yes, but you’ll need to clear it with your property manager or HOA before you book. Some complexes are happy to allow it; others don’t permit commercial work on site at all, and that’s their call rather than mine. I’m fully self-contained, so I’m not asking your building for water or power. What I do need is permission to be there and a parking space I can work around. Please check first so nobody’s time gets wasted, and if you’re not sure who to ask, call or text (360) 347-1610 and we’ll talk it through.

Do you come out to my area?

Right now I serve Tumwater, Olympia, and Lacey. Those are the cities I’m permitted to work in, so those are the ones I book.

If you are somewhere else, it is still worth asking. Adding a city means getting permitted for it, and enough requests from one area is what tells me to look into it. Call or text (360) 347-1610 or email hello@exomobiledetail.com, and I’ll tell you where things stand.
